Amy Schumer has revealed that she missed the SNL script-reading and rehearsal in New York City because she was trying to be the “best mom that I know.”
The “Trainwreck” star, 27, gave birth to son Max Joseph Schumer on July 10 and is currently recuperating after undergoing an emergency cesarean section. In the new episode, Amy recalled the episode in which she played the “Mom Who Tried To Be Normal” after she arrived home with her newborn after a cesarean section.
In the sketch, she says she left New York because she was trying to be the “best mom that I know.”
“I am very much in love with our son, Max Joseph Schumer Schumer,” the star told People. “I am so, so grateful to have had him. His mother is the best. I’m so mad I missed the SNL script-reading because I was trying to be, like, the best mom that I know.”
Amy’s husband, filmmaker Ben Silverman, posted a photo of the couple’s newborn on their Instagram account on July 14. “We are so happy,” the caption read.
